Hey, is this blog just about sex?
Some people are asking, did I have a long term relationship while in Uzbekistan? People want to know if it was just sexual exploits all those years and that's all I'm going to write about. The answer is ,of course not, there is so much more to life than sex. But there is so much about living in a foreign place that you fall in love with that is very much like sex, the immersion into another place or being, the moments of forgetting oneself, the moments of inexpressible joy for no particular reason, save for simply your being there. But I would rather not give away too much too soon, developing a relationship with a place has an arc of its own, with much preparation and development and perhaps a climax or several. But this takes time and I will write until I feel that I am able to express it with some justice, explaining the process of learning about the country, the language, the lay of the land of the first few months. And then later, the search for something more. ¶ 8:10 PM
